DeepBreath
Privacy Policy
Effective 5 October 2026
DeepBreath is a browser extension made by Better Habit Studio. The short version: DeepBreath does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal or browsing data. Everything it keeps stays on your device.
What DeepBreath stores
DeepBreath saves a small amount of information in your browser’s local extension storage, on your device only. It is not sent to us or anyone else, and it is not synced to your Google account.
- Your settings: whether DeepBreath is on, the breathing duration, the grace period, any checkout patterns you add and any sites you exclude.
- Daily counts: how many pauses you had and how many times you chose “Not today”, per day for the last 60 days, plus running totals.
- Grace periods: after you complete a pause and continue, the site’s domain name (for example,
example.com) and the time its grace period ends. Expired entries are removed automatically.
What DeepBreath does not do
- It does not collect your browsing history, page content, form entries or payment details.
- It has no accounts, servers, analytics, advertising or cookies.
- It does not share or sell data to anyone, because it has no data to share.
- It does not load remote code. Everything it runs is included in the extension.
How DeepBreath reads pages
To recognise checkout pages, DeepBreath runs on the websites you visit. It checks the page address against a list of checkout patterns, and for a few seconds after a page loads it looks for a card-number field or a “Place order” / “Pay now” button. These checks happen entirely on your device. Their results are not stored, apart from the grace-period domain described above, and are never sent anywhere.
Permissions
- Storage: to save the settings and counts described above on your device.
- Access to websites: checkout pages can be on any shop’s domain, so DeepBreath needs to check each page you open to know whether to show the breathing pause.
Your choices
You can change DeepBreath’s settings, exclude sites or turn it off at any time. Removing the extension from chrome://extensions deletes everything it has stored.
Children
DeepBreath is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If DeepBreath ever needed to handle data differently, we would explain that clearly on this page before the change took effect.
